My Trip To Lewisboro

Illustration

This past weekend I traveled to Lewisboro to put up these signs. They are likely gone by now as the ones I had posted the weekend before were stolen. It seems they generated a great amount of interest in my website anyway as www.alisonbiddletruth.com received more hits in the last 36 hours than it has since I first launched it two months ago. I want to thank you all for your support.
I also want to say that I understand why some people in the town of Lewisboro have been unhappy with what they refer to as “attack” ads being placed in their neighborhood. These aren't pleasant to look at. However, if you read my site, you will see that Alison Biddle has been attacking me, my partner and subsequently our families for close to five years, using her unfair access to the legal system (her sister Nicole Sullivan acting as her attorney) to keep up this relentless endeavor. To those of you who ask “Why don’t you just sue them back?” My answer is this: the legal system isn’t set up to operate where one party has to pay tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees while the other has a family member do the work for them. Of course I can’t say for sure that Alison Biddle hasn’t paid as much as I have, but I would be interested to see if she can produce proof of it.
Usually, both parties have to spend an equal amount to fight one another. This acts as a deterrent to frivolous lawsuits being filed. However if Alison had the luxury of paying minimal fees, this gave her the freedom to pursue as many legal filings as possible against us, depleting myself, my parter and our families of unbearable amounts of money. This was not an equal playing field.
So now, the only court I can afford is the court of public opinion. Alison Biddle may win or lose this election. That’s up to you. But as part of the small business community I felt it was important to make sure as many people as possible knew the risks of putting this candidate in charge of much bigger projects than my restaurant.
If you’re a small business owner, a lawyer, a community organizer, a voter or anyone interested in treating people fairly, you’ll want to know this story.
Thank you,
Jeffrey White

Candidate Alison Biddle and her sister Attorney Nicole Sullivan temporarily succeed in disabling www.alisonbiddletruth.com

Illustration

This past Wednesday afternoon I received an email from my web host saying that Attorney Nicole Sullivan filed a complaint accusing me of publishing defamatory and libelous information about her and her clients, Alison and Marc Biddle, which was harmful to all of their reputations. Despite not being able to provide any examples of anything within this site which is untrue, the host obliged Ms. Sullivan’s request to take it down. Once again, I reached out to Ms. Sullivan to ask that she justify her actions. She has not yet responded. This was my email to her:
Subject: Removal of website alisonbiddletruth.com
Dear Ms. Sullivan,
I have been informed by the web host Strikingly that you filed a complaint, demanding that they remove my website, www.alisonbiddletruth.com, from public view because it contained defamatory and libelous content which is damaging to your reputation and to the reputation of Alison and Marc's business Pink Shirt Construction. Strikingly obliged. This is the second time you have succeeded in getting an online organization to remove an accurate account of my experience with you and your clients, the first being the removal of my truthful Build Zoom review. Once again, I ask you to provide me one example of anything in my website that is untrue. You have not yet been able to do so because, as you and I both know, there are none.
However the same cannot be said for your sister's campaign page where she makes libelous claims that I have been attacking her for years in more and more outlandish ways. The last time I spoke to your sister was at the meeting we had on 6/2/2017 where she agreed that she would provide me a final invoice and promised not to "steal my stuff". As we both know, neither of those promises were honored. Please provide me one example of anything Alison would claim was an attack, previous to the publishing of this website, or instruct that she withdraw her libelous statement saying I did so.
Finally, I would like to ask, is my truthful recounting of the behavior of you and your clients damaging to your reputation or is it the fact that you did these things which is a stain on your character? Does my truthful website damage the reputation of Pink Shirt Construction, or is it the fact that they lied on a mechanics lien, according to Marc, at your direction, and then demanded I pay them $241,506 to make it go away?
I am inspired by your continued efforts to hide this story because being that it is entirely true, it proves that you, Alison and Marc must at least have some understanding that your actions have been unethical at best and criminal at worst. It's even more reason for me to make sure that as many people as possible know about them. Sincerely,
Jeffrey White
I have no doubt Ms. Sullivan will make further attempts to hide what she and her clients have done to me, my partner Kelly Rheel and our families over the last four years. If I had done these things, I wouldn’t want anyone to know about them either. But my efforts to expose the truth will remain undeterred. My hope is that anyone paying attention to these events will only be able to come to one conclusion: the Biddles are guilty of what is said about them in this site or they wouldn’t be so determined to keep it from public view.

An Open Letter To Andrea Rendo and Bill Bongiorno — Running mates of Alison Biddle

Illustration

Dear Ms. Rendo and Mr. Bongiorno,
My name is Jeffrey White. I’m the former restaurant owner who your running mate, Alison Biddle, sued out of business. By now, you probably know I published a website, www.alisonbiddletruth.com, which goes into great detail to expose the unethical actions of Alison and her family members towards me over the last four years. Sadly however, it seems as though the strategy amongst your ticket has been to largely ignore this story, all the while touting transparency and responsibility as cornerstones of your campaign. I’m reaching out today to ask you to stop avoiding these awful facts. Rather, look closely at the events described in this site and ask yourselves whether or not you think Alison Biddle can be trusted with a Town Council seat, whereby she would be responsible for handling large sums of taxpayer funds, after learning about the dishonest way in which she handled mine.
Here’s everything in a nutshell: Alison’s company Pink Shirt Construction was fired from the buildout of my restaurant for refusing to be transparent about how my money was spent. Following that they used Alison's sister, Attorney Nicole Sullivan, to file two lawsuits against me, one saying they completed the job and one saying they didn’t, both demanding a $241,506 payout. Marc Biddle (Alison’s husband and business partner) later testified that he lied in the first lawsuit, at the direction of Attorney Sullivan, when he claimed to have completed the job, costing me tens of thousands of dollars and ultimately running me out of business. Alison will direct you to the fact that I lost the second (yet completely contradictory) lawsuit filed against me, as she is attempting to frame me as “furious” and “absolutely seething” over the turn out of this additional complaint. I will direct you to that lawsuit as well, which can be seen at www.alisonbiddletruth.com, because the misdeeds of the Biddles concerning that case are also heavily documented within.
This. Is. Your. Running. Mate.
I have come to terms with the notion, that in my experience, Alison and her family members are beyond reason, compassion or integrity but I have been dismayed to learn that this may be a bigger problem than just the Biddles.
Ms. Rendo:
When my partner, Kelly Rheel, attempted to bring this story to your attention, her comment was immediately deleted from your Campaign Facebook Page and she was blocked from further attempts at discussion. I found these actions especially disheartening after finding this Letter to the Editor you wrote concerning the lack of transparency within the Lewisboro Town Board:

Illustration

Please keep in mind, I have no affiliation with the democratic candidates in this race. I have never spoken to Jane Crimmins, nor did I know who she was before reading this article. What struck me however, is what I can only describe as the glaring hypocrisy of you insisting on transparency from others but refusing to provide it yourself. In this article, you say you were upset that you were “blocked” from making a public comment, and in an almost bizarre twist, frustrated that you were not immediately given a “breakdown of the funds” to be borrowed. In case you didn’t know, this is exactly the issue I had with Alison Biddle, who refused to provide me a breakdown of a $50,000 deposit I gave to her to begin work on my restaurant. Do you condemn the behavior of Ms. Crimmins yet condone the behavior of your running mate?
Mr. Bongiorno:
I was pleased to find that you perform the great service of being a Cubmaster, playing an integral part in the shaping of young minds and morals. I was a cub scout and a boy scout myself and count the years spent with those organizations as some of the best times from my childhood. However, I also remember the promise to always be truthful and kind, qualities which are so clearly lacking in your running mate Alison Biddle. Do you strive to impart the importance of such attributes to the children you mentor but neglect to demand them from the adults that you partner with?
Perhaps the two of you are wondering why this election concerns me at all. I don’t live in Lewisboro. How can Alison’s appointment to a town council seat affect me? These are legitimate questions, so I’m going to give you an honest answer. Alison Biddle, her husband and her sister did not have to live in my voting district to so spectacularly destroy my life. Ms. Rendo, being an attorney, do you seek truth and justice for only those clients living in Lewisboro? Mr. Bongiorno, do you teach your cub scouts to use the scout oath to “do your best” and remain “morally straight” only while within the borders of South Salem?
Both of you are business owners which makes you part of a special community. One that can often be far reaching and relies on respect, honesty and integrity to ensure the health of the system overall. When business owners lie, cheat and steal from other business owners, it acts like a poison, often putting the people they do this to in a position where it’s easier for them to justify that behavior to others. What Alison, her husband and sister did to me, my partner Kelly Rheel and our families was not only immoral, but criminal. As an attorney, Ms. Rendo, do you think the legal actions taken by the Biddles and Ms. Sullivan were just? And as a business owner Mr. Bongiorno, would you be ok with their actions if levied against your public relations company?
There is no doubt that you both are in a tough position. I empathize with the fact that you have applied so much effort to this campaign, only to find out at the last minute, that your running mate exhibits exactly the kinds of characteristics you claim to abhor. However so far my website has received nearly 600 unique visitors. That’s over ten percent of the amount of mailers that were sent out and who knows what percentage of potential voters. There is an obvious interest in this story from the people of Lewisboro, so regardless of where I’m from, I believe it is in your interest to offer some insight on where you stand regarding Alison Biddle’s actions.
I would love to give you this opportunity. I will be in Lewisboro this weekend and the weekend of October 23rd speaking to the voters in your district about my unfortunate experience with your running mate. It would be my great privilege to talk with you over the phone or in person, to answer any questions you may have regarding the content of www.alisonbiddletruth.com. I invite Ms. Biddle herself to attend any such meetings.
In my dealings with Alison and others in the small business community, I have always behaved honestly and respectfully, and despite how I have been treated by her unscrupulous family, I vow to continue to do so, because good business can’t survive when there are bad actors like the Biddles. And neither can good government. We’ve seen too much of this kind of behavior over the last few years from both sides of the political spectrum. In the words of Andrea Rendo “Enough is enough.”
Sincerely,
Jeffrey White

My response to Alison Biddle's statement regarding this website:

Hi again, I'm Jeff White, or "this guy" as Alison refers to me.
Shortly after my website was published, candidate Biddle released a statement about it that seemed to raise a number of concerns.
In keeping with my promise to remain 100% transparent and honestly answer any questions brought about by the material included here, I'd like to address those concerns and as always, invite anyone who would like additional information to follow up with me via the Contact Form at the bottom of the homepage.
Thanks!

From the "Alison Biddle for Lewisboro Town Council" website:

1. "Some people have received a nasty mailing today, with all kinds of vicious attacks on me, my husband and even my sister."
My response: Alison seems to be indicating that she had a bad day because this website was published. She goes on to mention that the mailers I sent to the voters in her district contained "vicious attacks" against her, her husband and her sister, yet nowhere in her statement does she claim that any of the information provided in them, or in this website, is untrue. It seems as though Alison admits to everything detailed here and in the mailers, in which case I would have to agree with her. The actions of Alison Biddle, her husband/business partner Marc Biddle and her sister/attorney Nicole Sullivan, were nothing short of vicious. If Alison thinks she had a bad day reading about them, imagine my last four years living them.
These are the mailers by the way:

2. "The bottom line is that a jury ordered this guy to pay our company nearly a quarter million dollars — $230,531.12 to be exact. And he is furious — absolutely seething — because he lost after he had his day in court with a jury of his peers — after a week long trial."
My response: The first part of this is absolutely true. I go into great detail to describe my perspective on the lawsuit where Pink Shirt was awarded $230,513.12, and the events leading up to it. What I would like to point out however, is that juries don't always get it right. Biddle seems to be saying that our court system is infallible. She fails to mention that her business partner/husband, Marc Biddle, testified that he lied in their first lawsuit against me (which was dismissed, yet seriously hindered my ability to defend myself from the second one) at the direction of their attorney (and Alison's sister) Nicole Sullivan. Additionally, she doesn't deny any of my claims that her company and expert witness were dishonest in the lawsuit where I lost a quarter of a million dollars. So is the "win" that Alison and her supporters keep parading as proof that this website is irrelevant, as significant, if it was achieved by cheating? You can decide that for yourself.
3. "He’s been attacking me for years, and gotten more and more outlandish as time passed. So it wasn’t a surprise that he’s attacking me again, now that I am a candidate for public office."
My response: I honestly have no idea what she is talking about here. I haven't spoken to Alison Biddle since the meeting we had to dissolve the partnership back on June 2nd, 2017. A recording of that meeting is included on my homepage. I have gone to great lengths to provide documents which backup every, single, claim on this website. If Alison is going to accuse me of harassment, I would ask that she please include some form of evidence to support it. I challenge her to even offer examples of this harassment, as there simply are none.
4. "But he still managed to screw that up! New York State law requires that mailings and websites that attack (or promote) candidates be paid for by a committee filed with the State Board of Elections — so people know where the money comes from, and how it is spent. But it appears he didn’t do that."
My response: I am not a committee, I am just a guy ("this guy" in fact) attempting to inform voters about my experience doing business with Biddle. That being said, I have updated my original disclaimer, which stated from the beginning that I alone am responsible for this website and its dissemination, to now include confirmation that I, Jeffrey White, have also paid for it and all related materials.
5. "Neither his attack mailing nor his hateful website contain any ‘Paid for by’ disclaimer, as required by New York State law. So no one really knows who paid for all this, how much they spent, or what else they are spending money on. Or why they mailed it from Montana! But we will find out."
My response: Yes you will find out. Because I'm going to tell you. The mailers came from Montana because the Livingston based company PFL was recommended by USPS's website and they were $400 cheaper than the guys in Jersey. Go figure.

Illustration

Finally, I would like to reiterate what I stated in my original disclaimer: "I’ve published this website with no political affiliation or desire to be affiliated, for these purposes, with any political party or organization of any kind". This website serves not to promote one candidate over another, but rather to alert the voters of Lewisboro that my experience with Alison as a business person was very different than the person she is claiming to be as a candidate. From the start, she has been fervently non-transparent, even now deleting from her Electoral Facebook Page any remarks or questions related to this website and blocking those who leave them.
I will not do that. I welcome all comments and concerns and will be posting them regularly on this page. Because you know who tells the truth? "This guy"
Thanks again,
Jeffrey White

First response from Biddle Attorney (and Alison's sister) Nicole Sullivan of White and Williams LLP

On the day this website was published, in an effort to prevent any future lawsuits from Pink Shirt Construction, I sent out a letter to Alison Biddle's attorney/sister, Nicole Sullivan, and four other lawyers at the firm White and Williams LLP, all of whom, have in some way, been involved in the last four years of legal proceedings. In it, I make clear that I am the one responsible for the publishing of this website and if they do wish to sue me yet again, to please contact only me as I will be acting pro se until further notice. Predictably, Attorney Sullivan did not respect those wishes, but first the letter to the attorneys:

Illustration

Rather than contacting me, the person responsible for this site, Nicole Sullivan, reached out to Kelly's bankruptcy attorney this morning to ask for a conversation regarding an issue he has nothing to do with. Below is that correspondence:

Illustration

This is the second time that Attorney Sullivan has accused me of making allegations against her that amount to defamation. The first was in her email to me requesting I remove a Build Zoom review that I wrote about my experience with Pink Shirt Construction (see evidence slider). I have made no allegations here. I have stated only facts and occasionally, my opinions about those facts. So once again, I'm asking Nicole Sullivan or her sister Alison Biddle, to provide one example of anything I have included in this website that is untrue. Alison continues to delete questions or comments related to this website from her Facebook Campaign Page making it almost undeniable that she does not want anyone to know this true story supported by a substantial amount of evidence. I look forward to Biddle or Sullivan providing any clear examples of anything I have stated about them which they believe to be false.
